TAU SERU
Although he doesn't remember how old he was when he saw it, it's the experience of watching Terrence Malick's Days of Heaven that drove Australian director Rodd Rathjen to make films. Then, it is after three weeks in India and 4600 m high up the Himalaya that he decides to start filming. He films a simple story, with practically no dialogue, that of a young nomad hoping to leave this place. Capturing endless, vertiginous landscapes Tau Seru is a physical, earthy film offering a tender portrait of a father and son in the silence of the lambs.
